How to save bugs to Airtable
Saving bugs to Airtable helps organize and track issues effectively. Capturing screenshots and using the element picker to focus on specific DOM elements can improve bug documentation.
Bug Reporting
When reporting bugs, capturing detailed information is key. Screenshots provide visual evidence, and the element picker can target specific areas of the screen that correspond to particular DOM elements.
With Powersave, you can add bug reports, along with screenshots, directly to your Airtable table.
Using Screenshots & Element Picker
Take Screenshots: Use screenshots to document visual issues. Capture the entire screen or use the element picker to focus on the specific area where the bug occurs.
Add Details: After capturing the screenshot, save the image directly to your bug tracking table in Airtable. Include other relevant details such as:
- Bug description
- URL or path where the bug occurs
- Steps to reproduce
- Browser and device details
- Severity and priority
- Use the Element Picker: The element picker allows you to select and capture a specific DOM element where the bug is located. Attach this targeted screenshot to your Airtable record.
Note on Autofill Limitations
Powersave does not track user activity and, by itself, cannot autofill information like error stack traces or console logs. These details need to be manually added to ensure a complete bug report.
