Destinations

To save anything with Powersave, you first need to create a destination. A destination is a pointer to an Airtable base and table. You can understand it as a "view" but it's entirely meant for saving.

Most customizations are then scoped to the destination:

  • Hidden fields
  • Field order
  • Custom AI prompt
  • Which fields are toggled for AI
  • Last used tab (create, bulk create, update)
  • Custom autofill configurations

You can create multiple destinations for the same Airtable table, each with different customizations. This might be useful especially for larger tables that are being used for multiple purposes.

To quickly create new destination, you can copy an existing one. (At the moment not all configurations are being copied, a fix for this will be shipped shortly).

How are destinations stored?

So far, destinations are only saved to the local browser memory. In the future they might be exported to a file and shared with others or optionally saved to the cloud.

What is the future of destinations?

Next step for destinations could be custom workflows or connecting them to keyboard shortcuts to save even more time. Additionally, the whole architecture around destinations could be used to make Powersave work also with other platforms or to save to webhook or a file.
